A $10k gamble

The state is talking about a $10k tax credit for buying a new home. I have to ask, is $10k enough of an incentive to gamble on a new home. Take a look at this article about a new development in Menifee

The builder goes belly up, the community clubhouse and pool gets locked up and drained and the homeowners are left pissed off and left wondering who pays for it now.

That $10k tax credit should come with a set of dice. Do ya feel lucky punk?

I got my taxes done today!!! I'm pissed, I bought a house in Temecula on Jan 26th 2009.

I earned $109,000 last year (being single) and therefore I DO NOT QUALIFY for the $8,000 from my Gov't. because I'm single and earn over $75,000 per year, "I am phased out" as they said.

Typical "Bait & Switch" BULL-Sh*&.

They the old saying, "If it sounds too godd to be true, it probably is."

Here is another bonus for those of you that patiently waited to buy. The multiple offers OVER the asking price on foreclosures. A friend of mine bid $105K for a place underpriced at $93K in San Berdoo. Of course the agent came back with the highest and best nonsense. Since she really wants the house, she went to $120K. Bank accepted, escrow opened, appraisal came in at.....wait for it......$105K! So the banks is reducing the price to her original offer. Find the one you want, and you'll get it.

Sorry, I meant the days of the multiple offers OVER the price are themselves over!

I am in escrow as of last Friday for a really nice single story foreclosure buid by Wood Bridge in 2002 in Corona. The listing agent was in OC and I know he listed too low. I offered 1k over asking, very strong buyer 14 days escrow and the bank accepted my offer over other higher offers.

Nice homes, you will still get multiple offers.

I don't believe that multiple offers over the asking price are gone.

Right before I went into escrow - I had put a bid on a home in Horsetheif - $5k more than asking - I'll be damned if at least 3 other people came in and out bid me by $20k....guess who DIDN't get the house - but it worked out - the good Lord provided the house I have now.

If the price is good there will nearly always be multiple offers. That's just the nature of any sale. If it's priced below perceived or actual value it's gonna get some offers.
