Bon Voyage....again!

It's time for X and the wife to hit the high seas again. This is our long overdue 20th anniversary cruise that was supposed to happen last summer. Well, better late than never!

As the real estate market and the economy teeter on the edge of oblivion I will be sucking down fruity foo-foo drinks and eating myself into a diabetic coma on the Norwegian Pearl.

Feel free to use this as an open thread and talk about whatever "floats your boat" (oh that was bad).

Be back the 26th!

Has BMIT closed down? Or just shut the doors to strangers? I know he finally bought a house, but he didn't even say "goodbuy".

He shut the doors for now. There's a thread on piggingtons. It looks like some guys gave him a load of flak about being a hypocrite so he just shut the site. He also had said that he didn't have the time and would probably only be posting the sales numbers. The life of these blogs seems to average about 2 years so outlasted most. The Bakersfield housing blog also packed it in last week.

Man, I miss cruising. My wife and I are avid Royal Caribbean fans. Ever since baby #1 entered the world we haven't had time - now we're expecting #2. It might be a while !

Enjoy your vacation. (those foo foo drinks are good aren't they?)

I wanted to get people's opinions about Anaheim Hills/Yorba Linda. I am currently renting a home in Norco. This will be my third year. My initial plan was to buy here in Norco Hills or Corona when I felt the price was right. But now there are some decent priced homes in Anaheim Hills, Yorba Linda is still expensive (but I think prices will be coming down soon).

I travel for work, so I really don't commute to anywhere.

Where do people think is a better place to live?

kash, i think you're looking at more diversity and better schools in the OC.. also proximity to the beach, fine dining, etc.. if none of that 'floats your boat', the ie is more affordable but does get hot in the summers and the norco area of corona still smells like cows from time to time... you won't get cow smell out in yorba linda...

nowrweigan is the way to go.. freestyle-ing is a nice alternative to the traditional cruises... wooohooo..

I'm back......

That was fun, if you like diving or snorkeling the Western Caribbean cruise is the one to go on. The snorkeling in Belize is great, Honduras (Roatan) is good too.

Now for the bad news, I get back, turn on the PC and it implodes on me. I had to re-install windows so I will be busy for the next few nights rebuilding this damned pc. Obviously I have it running but it's going to take a few evenings to get it re-configured.

Thanks for the nudge, I will backup our PCs again. I put that task off longer sometimes than I should.

Btw, my fav snorkel adventure was on a cruise too. I went out around the end of a pier and when I surfaced for air on the other side, there was a mermaid floating in the water. She was floating on her back; her long blond hair was splayed out in the water around her head and she was sunning her perky Norwegian... ahhh, nevermind, let's just say it was a good day in the carribean, and no, I was not drinking rum at the time. I snorkel sober.

Well, I didn't see any mermaids. I did see just about everything else with fins though. I actually had no idea the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world was so close to home (in Belize). I'm ready to do it again! If my wife had more vacation time I'd do the April cruise from Miami to LA through the Panama Canal. That one is two weeks and has lots of cool stops. Hopefully she will have enough vacation time that we can do it in the fall.

Aww snap -- my computer crapped out this morning too! It got some crazy virus last week and gurgled on fitfully for a while and now it won't even boot up. I was planning to transfer everything to another system this weekend - arrrgghhhh! Anyone know a good computer repair shop in the IE?

And why do most programs by default try to save files in "My Documents" when that's the first folder to get hosed when you re-install? That's just twisted.

Okay, sorry for the off-topic vent.
