Obviously a lover of the arts.....

This isn't a delusional seller post (although he is). I was looking to make such a post when I ran across this home. The home is at 9130 Hunt Rd in South Corona. I see it when I play Trilogy Golf Club. It sits on a hill behind the 12th hole. This house has been on the market for ages. It first listed in Jan 2008. He's been dropping the price but with an asking price of $2.2M he will need to make some serious price cuts before this place gets any interest. It's a nice property but he's probably at least 50% too high.

But the reason I picked the house is the decor. It's not horrid or anything just some of the paintings caught my eye. Like the Mona Lisa for instance, that is hanging in the living room. Or Washington Crossing the Delaware by Leutze, that is hanging over the fireplace. And if you look closely you will see another pic of George on the wall across from that (looks to be a copy of the one by Gilbert Stewart).

I dunno why, but those paintings just made me chuckle.

Finally, Happy Birthday to Mrs. X, who turns 29 for the 14th time tomorrow.

Well done, X. I have never met you, but I think I can assume that you married up.

Happy B-Day., Mrs. X (who shares the same birthday as my golf widow). June 5 rocks!!!

I second that, Happy Birthday! My better half just had one and I'm about to. Us Gemini are special, aren't we? (OK you can stop with the short yellow bus jokes).

I sorta like that room with the flag proudly displayed and 'Ol George lead'n his troops, over the fire place. Kinda makes me want to salute and fondle my weapon. No, not THAT weapon that Sean Penn (traitor scumbag) mentioned once in one of his propaganda movies. I wonder if the price of that home depends on which news network you mostly watch?

The art is pretty funny.

My birthday is coming up too, but I'm really turning 29. Guess I should enjoy it this year since it is the last birthday I get to enjoy.

Mine's in two weeks. I don't keep track of how old I am anymore.... My anniversary is the same day (that way I don't forget). this year we will be celebrating on the Mariner of the Seas. We leave next Sunday :-)

Looks like a great room for a Spot O' Tea.

LOL

Not a big fan of tea, but the wife being English likes her "cup o tea". I just booked high tea at Butchart Gardens in Victoria for the week after next. I'll have to practice sipping with my pinky sticking out.....

This may be off topic, but X's wife is hot.

Happy Birthday, Mrs. X!

Maybe it's the circles I travel in, but that decor looks very unsalable to me. It's a kind of Federalist/Colonial revival style which was very popular many years ago - both my grandmothers, born early in the 20th century, decorated that way. But I never see that style anymore except in houses of very old people. It looks like a museum.

eah Commiefornia attitudes are what they are. The average lefty/gay/gun-hater/tax-lover would not go for that decor. Personally, I guess I would not pay extra for that look, but I would not be in any hurry to redecorate if I purchased it in it's obviously fine condition. It does not offend me, and I could surely find a few places to display a nice gun collection and perhaps add to the wall hangings with a nice copy of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Plus it would be entertaining to watch people's expressions when they came to your home and listen to their comments. That would be very revealing.

It's certainly not the way I would decorate my home. But if I were staying in a B&B for a few days with this decor it would be great.

Thanks Roger Roberts, I think my wife is hot too. How she puts up with me I'll never know....

Christina & Martin Burtin,
That's funny guys! Yeah, it does look a little like the white house.

X. Even though I do not know you personally, I bet one of the reasons the missus loves you is because you are so smart. Women love smart men.

golfer_X said...

Dunno about that.... She's way smarter than I am. I'm hoping it's because I'm so great in the sack;-) hehehe.

Hot women are never off topic.
